1. Section I (Multiple Choice): Enter the number of correct answers for Part A (30 Qs) and Part B (15 Qs). Our tool applies the 1.2x weighting factor automatically.

2. Section II (Free Response): Self-grade your 6 practice FRQs. Each question is worth a maximum of 9 points. Be honest to get the most accurate prediction!

3. Select Your Curve: Exam difficulty varies each year. Use the "Generous" curve if you felt the practice test was extremely hard, or "Harsh" if it felt suspiciously easy.

Why is AP Calc AB Scoring So Complex?

The AP Calculus AB exam is scored out of a composite 108 points. Since the Multiple Choice section only has 45 questions, the College Board multiplies your raw MCQ score by 1.2. This ensures that the MCQ section (54 points) and the FRQ section (54 points) contribute equally to your final grade. TrendCart Tools manages all this backend math instantly.

What is a "Good" AP Score?

A score of 3 is considered "Qualified" for college credit at most public universities. However, competitive STEM programs and Ivy League schools usually look for a 4 or a 5. Earning a 5 typically requires a composite score of around 72+ out of 108.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is there a penalty for wrong answers?

No! The College Board removed the guessing penalty years ago. You should answer every single question, even if it's a guess.

How accurate is this curve?

Our tool uses historical data from 2020-2025. While cutoffs shift by 1-2 points annually, this provides the most realistic estimate available.

What's the difference between AB and BC scoring?

AB covers about 60% of the BC curriculum. BC exams also generate an "AB Subscore," which estimates how you would have performed on just the AB-equivalent questions.
